Since "Photoshop Elements 9 Editor" downloaded from the Mac App Store has a different folder structure, Elements+ installs in a different way:
- In the Finder window, go to Applications folder, [Ctrl]-click the "Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Editor" app, and choose "Show Package Contents" in the context menu (see full screenshot).

- In the PSE package, navigate to "Contents:Application Data:Photoshop Elements:9.0:Photo Creations" folder, [Ctrl]-click the "photo effects" subfolder, and choose "Get Info" (see screenshot).
- In info dialog, expand the "Sharing & Permissions" area, click the "locked" pictogram, then, in the dialog that opens, enter your password, and click OK (see screenshot).
- Click the lowest ("everyone") permission line and choose "Read & Write" option
(see full screenshot).
NB Steps 1-4 are recommended but not necessary (see NB2 below).

- Launch Photoshop Elements Editor.
- Mount "elements+9.dmg" disk image.
- From the disk image window, drag the "Setup" script onto the PSE icon in the Doc
(see full screenshot).
NB2 If you haven't unlocked the "photo effects" folder for writing (steps 1 through 4), the Setup script reveals the "source" and "destination" folders with the Finder. Drag all the files from "stuff:Thumbnails" into the "photo effects" folder. In the dialog that opens, click "Authenticate" (see screenshot).
In the next dialog, enter your password and click OK.
Also, you may want to manually delete the "MediaDatabase.db3" file in the "Contents:Application Data:Photoshop Elements:9.0:Locale:<Localization>" folder.
- Restart Photoshop Elements Editor and wait for the mediadatabase to rebuild.
